Just read a free report called “The 6 Forgotten Factors Of Hypertrophy” by IFBB Pro Benjamin Pakulski and Vince Del Monte . I was immediately drawn to their honesty pointing out that there’s no magic programs. Programs are either based on proven scientific principles or bro science. Anyone follows my stuff knows how I feel about Bro-Science…

What’s the difference? The difference lies in the consistency between those programs. One gives consistent, generally predictable progress, one gives short term progress for no other reason than it’s simply different from what people are used to doing.

The authors make it clear that a science based program will address the known variables of good programming, such as:

•Rest intervals (both between sets and between workouts)

•Repetition speed/tempo (how fast or slow you move the weights)

•Load (how close is the weight to your 1 repetition max (RM))

•Number of sets (per exercise, per workout, per body part)

•Duration (length of workout time)

•Frequency (how many workouts per day and per week)

To name a few key variables that must be addressed in any effective program if the person wants to make long term continued progress!

Another key point addressed nicely – as I have been saying for a few decades now – although there are known variables to control to get the responses from your hard work in the gym, there’s not one right way to train for all people all the time. Again, no magic programs!

Anyone who claims otherwise, pushing their magical techno functional East-Block CIA developed “30lbs of rock hard muscle in 30 days” program as the one and only “perfect” program is a damn liar, and or simply ignorant, or both! This report does not do that, which I greatly appreciated.

Reading this report you may conclude the authors have been influenced by the works of Coach Charles Poliquin. Coach Poliquin wrote the training section of my Body Building Revealed program and has probably been more influential as an S&C coach then any single coach in history. I’m no slouch in the training department, so having Poliquin write a training section in my own book should tell you something… I have known Poliquin for decades, consider him a friend, and no doubt, the program Vince and Ben have put together has benefited from that influence, while putting their own twist on it.

In this free report, the authors offer a group of training techniques people can try right away, so no hints at “secret” techniques you don’t get see and try, but some stuff one can employ that very day if they so choose.

I’d say this report, and the program it’s based on, is for the person with a few years of training under their belt (i.e., they are not total newbies…) looking to maximize muscle mass vs. say lose weight or focus on “functional training” per se, but there’s an awful lot of guys and gals who would love to add some real muscles mass and strength, so give this report – The 6 Forgotten Factors Of Hypertrophy – a read and see what you think.

I think they have some solid info in this report, and what appears to be a solid program behind it, I will be covering more of in the near future.
