Getting closer to genetics based nutrition
If there was one thing that really struck me about the 2009 FASEB conference, it was the extensive amount of research presented in what is clearly the direction that will answer the most essential questions about how food and nutrients interact with our genes.

Without a doubt, the most cutting edge research looking at the relationship between what we eat – be it food or supplements – and the benefits we derive, is the science of nutrigenomics. As the name implies, nutrigenomics looks directly at how nutrients interact with our genes. Wikipedia defines it as “the study of molecular relationships between nutrition and the response of genes, with the aim of extrapolating how such subtle changes can affect human health.” Some of the nutrients we eat are very powerful modulators of our genes.

Perhaps one of the best defined at this time are the fatty acids found in fish oil; EPA and DHA. These two fatty acids have various health benefits that actually works on the genetic level. To show just how exiting and powerful this area of research is, one speaker commented that the active constituents found in fish oils (EPA/DHA) could actually nullify the genetic disposition some people had for developing Syndrome X and cardio vascular disease.
This is an extremely promising and important finding. The science of nutrigenomics is very much in its early stage, and genetics is a complex topic, but it was very much in the forefront of the FASEB conference.

Research is ongoing, and this area of research will yield the most essential results in the history of human kind to human health and longevity!

    Great post with several interesting ideas! Can’t say I totally agree with all that you have suggested here, but there are a few key ideas you have emphasized that can be rather usable on natural health and associated topics. Please continue offering more ideas on this topic and related issues, as there are plenty of people who are attempting to evaluate the pluses and minuses.

    in Your article on Nutrigenomics Conference of 2009 I found a very interesting quotation which wasn’t specifying on recommended C3-, C4- or transgene Food:

    But just now I wanted to confront You with
    “the strongest and best proven modulation effect which was initiated as a nationwide test (as Dr. P. Klein put it) claiming
    that the previous “positive results” of fattened rats, pigs, chicks, cows and kids on CORN-starch-based C4-Diet now in a 3-4 generation-long and unnecessary experiment finally succeeded to prove the same thing on the whole Nation, which was submitted unwittingly and without consent to this same nationwide experiment, ruining a lot of lives and filling the pockets of Pharma-, Drug- and Appliances- Producers, which now all have to see how to reverse this hidden gene-modulative Food-Effect”.
    As there is habitual liking for sweetness intensified by artificial sweeteners like Aspartame produced on GMO-Corn-Basis making all husbandry animals already get Sweetness-addicted, making their meat go sweet & ‘corned’, all day sweet-corn-eating makes them grow fast and heavy, and as the same proven fodder-induced gene-modulation carries on and through all food
    we have the same lot of pathological conditions as on Chicks, Pigs and Cows now on pandemic-like surging number of conditioned Consumers of Protein as Life-Style.
    There are yet some more factors on the Energy-side, but these are so minute, that no one even wants to learn about the nano- and pico-stuff of Isotopes. But these even turn the ‘Clean Water’ well known as ‘simple H2O’ to appear as a complicated mixture of 9 variant components.
    This mixture has always been there as such, formerly unnoticed but yet as very well organized soup of well balanced energetic particles, well becoming to all forms of LIFE young and old, embryos as well as to senescent wise women and gurus teaching traditions and rules for healthy long life.
    And Global Plants had 400 mio years daily good experience with combining the best and easy going combinations of those Waters Components with the corresponding light and easily going variants of the corresponding 9 components of an essential tracegas, the famous Carbon-Dioxide
    [CO2].
    Yet now, observation of fast growth has initiated the same on all planes and levels of age and energy. But the heaviest is not the healthiest; to accumulate all of New Life-Style’s side-effects does not improve Memory and preserve proven Roots of Good Traditions. And to have to retain the heaviest- because our bodies don’t have tools to handle the hot and super-heavy sticky rests of “Surplus Sweetness”- is the legacy of the ever-so cheaply produced energy, to be amply blown off as irretainable, as natural additive in surplus production, too difficult to handle as explosive, as legal pollutant with highest limits and so not worth the counting in any volatiles it is released unaccounted for and dissipated with all winds and their waters, carried around the globe with the drinking waters. And entering into plants it returns firmly bound and loaded with extra energy.
    But built-in into Sugars and Starch by Nature’s Photosynthesis and fed amply to our Live-Stock Animals to be heavy it returns as surplus Energy, as 5 to 10 times re-charged Protein, storing all that Energy and calling for that Day to come earlier: That Day when our rests will be burned.
