CT SWAT Challenge PT Stage!

Gang, if you watched some of the training vids I put up – which can also be found on my SWATFitnessTraining Youtube site – you can see the training is tough. The training paid off however and it was “mission accomplished” for the major goals we set:

Goal for this year, break the top 10:

The team I worked with (NEMLEC SWAT/RRT)  was 7th out of 37 teams (last year they were 14th out of 33 teams)

Be #1 team from MA:

They were the number one team from MA (there were 6-8 teams from MA). The second closest team from MA was 4 places (the MSP team) who took 11th place, a very respectable placing for their first attempt BTW.

Crack top 5 of at least one stage again:

4th in the sniper challenge

Goals not achieved:

The only set back was they were not able to repeat their 4th place finish in the PT Challenge portion of it, but still placed a very respectable 13th. We had a beat up crew this year with a lot of injuries, other teams really brought up their game this year (we were told by several teams they used my vids as their training guide!) so I can live with 13th. Below is my vid from the PT portion of this competition:

2008 SWAT training Highlight vid

This is a fun highlight vid from 2008 training, from the 12 weeks I worked with them for the CT SWAT Challenge, the third largest such competition in the country. I didn’t produce this particular vid. One of the guys on the team used footage I had taken to make this vid which does a nice job of summarizing the hard work we did.

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

Anyway, 2009 training gets underway soon (May 2009) and I plan to take it to the next level, hit the ground running this year, and generally step up the training. Like most guys on RRT/SWAT teams, these guys have full time jobs, families, etc, and this is done on their own time, so it takes a lot of dedication for them to do this type of training for 12-14 weeks leading up such a comp. Of course it ultimately leads to improving their abilities for the job, so it’s time well spent.

Enjoy!

CT SWAT Challenge Results And Comments

Well gang, I am back from the CT SWAT Challenge for which those SWAT training vids were in preparation for. My guys took 15th out of 34 teams, and 4th at the all important PT Challenge, so there was proof of concept results there from the training.
