When at the Arnold Classic, I’m always on the lookout for something new and interesting for training equipment, and this year didn’t disappoint. People can get a taste of what I got to see in my recent vid from from 2013 Arnold Classic. On the Expo floor, I saw The Kettle Clamp, which grabbed my attention and I investigated. Glad I did!  The Kettle Clamp allows you to convert any dumbbell into a Kettlebell, but there’s FAR more that can be done with The Kettle Clamp.
To be honest, I’m not a big kettlebell person. Although I do use them semi regular, they are not a central part of my exercise programs. I could see however The Kettle Clamp would not only allow me to convert the dumbbells I have in my home gym into KBs, there was plenty of other benefits to having a pair of Kettle Clamps in my tool box. Here’s a recent workout I did using The Kettle Clamp:

In this workout, I do a GPP/conditioning workout in two blocks:
Pull ups and farmers walks
+
KB swings, grappler press, dead lifts using Fat Gripz
I took no time between exercises and tried to take less than a minute between rotations.

Hey Will, any idea if the KettleClamp works with PowerBlocks? The website says it works with any dumbbell and that’s what I use at home.
    Thanks.

Good question. I really couldn’t tell not having tried that idea. You might want to shoot them an email and ask. Sounds like it might be awkward, but honestly not sure there.

KC folks confirmed that the clamps won’t work with the PowerBlock DBs. 🙁

Seems like a nice idea for a product but awfully expensive at $199. I can buy alot of used Kettlebells for that much money. And if I wanted to use two of these for pull ups, now we’re talking $400.

Fair points really. It’s one of those things that makes sense for some, not so much for others. If I had a bunch of dumbbells, limited space, and wanted to have KBs, it would make sense. It is also very portable, so you can go to any gym, and have any weight of KB you want, etc. If someone preferred to take their $$$ and by a decent selection of used KBs, all good.

Will – great idea. I work out at the local Y (they have several locations around town) and only one has KB equipment – and I’ve really started to enjoy some of the exercises – especially as “finishers”. I’m sure these are great quality, any idea if there similar products that are less expensive? Realizing the answer may be – shut up and buy the good stuff – but thought I’d ask anyway.

I don’t know of any similar product, but that does not mean they don’t exist. I will say, there’s places to cut corners, and places not to. The Kettle Clamp is built like an M1A1 tank. A similar product ( if it exists) that’s made in China and purchased at say Dick’s sporting goods for far less $$$ that breaks; hurling a dumbbell across the room, will end badly. Just sayin’… 🙂

The single arm “Kettlebell” swings were terrible!
Sir, bad technique, no full hip movement, and the hand on the thigh. Interesting tool.

Wow…great workout and I like the clamp. This may be something that I keep in mind for my hubby to get me for Christmas or some other special occassion.I believe I would get some good use out of them.
