Folks, just attended the Iron Master Strongman Challenge, put on by The Weight Room, Newton MA. Here’s my highlight vid. You can also see another vid I made at the Weight Room which focused on the benefits of thick bar training HERE if interested.
As you all can see, a very tough series of event were chosen, but no quitters and a good time had by all!
Folks, firstly a quick update on the state of another “improved” form of creatine, which when put under real scientific scrutiny, didn’t live up to it’s claims (read hype and pseudo science) as I predicted in a prior article (The Creatine Graveyard). Additional comments with links to the study, can be found here The Creatine Graveyard Update 2012!
After watching this video, I highly recommend reading one – or all – of the articles listed below the vid for additional info that will improve your health, performance, and save you $$$$!
Latest person to go through the BrinkZone Gauntlet, Bikini competitor Courtney Joline shows what effective efficient whole body GPP, conditioning, endurance, and metabolic work looks like. No “toning and firming” nonsense here, just hard work that yields results.
If you want to see more victims of the BrinkZone Gauntlet, check out competitive bodybuilder Janet Esterkes and figure competitor Andrea Kalligheri, HERE.
The BrinkZone Gauntlet consists of two complexes:
Complex One consists of 3 cycles of:
Sand bag lunges/zercher squat

ball push ups
Complex Two consists of 3 cycles of:
Standing push press
battle ropes

For GPP, conditioning, endurance, metabolic work, and functional strength, it’s awesome. You can also see fitness model Kelly D doing The BrinkZone Gauntlet HERE
The Prowler II Rules All!
Dr. Chiang runs Northeastern Chiropractic is a regular contributor to the BrinkZone and has written several articles – with more to come – on topics such as rehab and injury prevention for the shoulders and other body parts that tend to cause problems for active populations. As you will see, Dr. Chiang knows hard work in the gym, so he can relate to athletes and active people who have various aches and pains. He’s the guy I see for my aches and pains! The other day I took my camera to Gold’s Gym and got him hitting the Prowler sled with some serious weight!
“Testosterone boosting” supplements/formulas have become a very popular category in the supplement industry of late. It seems everyone, boy or man, seems to want to “boost” their levels of the hormone that makes men men. Don’t get me wrong, I am a big fan of this hormone, and readers can see that via my other writings on the topic found throughout this web site. Everyone, men and women, can potentially benefit from maintaining optimal levels of this essential hormone.
Ever wonder how your supplements REALLY get made? I cover the actual process, and give some tips on how to get best quality for your $$$. How the supplements you take are actually made in most cases, no longer a mystery!
In this vid, we do some thick bar/thick handle training, which should be part of any program where maximal functional strength is the goal. For more info, also see my write on the topic HERE.
